Fundraising campaigns bring people together and make a significant contribution to advancing research. Many affected individuals, relatives, friends, associations, companies, etc. launch impressive campaigns with creative ideas, e.g. on the occasion of:
– Birthdays, anniversaries, holidays
– Awareness Events zu ME/CFS oder Long COVID
– Charity run (school, club, company) or other sporting events
– Charity concert
– Just like that...
Here are tips, examples and suggestions on how you can plan and implement your own campaign. It's easy!
How do I organise a fundraising campaign?
Betterplace The largest online donation platform in Germany. In addition to direct donations , you can easily set up your own fundraising campaigns for ME/CFS research:
– Select project (Link to ME/CFS Research Foundation)
– Create a campaign page with photo and text (download text template for ME/CFS research)
– Spread the word about the fundraising campaign (social media, WhatsApp, email, etc.)
Donations from your campaign go directly to us (all common payment methods accepted). Betterplace displays the donation total for your campaign and issues donation receipts (useful for large donations, as our projects are charitable). Once the campaign ends, you can forward the funds to the ME/CFS Research Foundation with a single click. There is no cost to you. Betterplace automatically retains the transaction costs (2.8% of the donation amount).

Gofundme (online Crowdfunding Plattform):
Gofundme works similarly to betterplace, but it is not a donation platform and does not issue donation receipts to donors (for tax purposes, gofundme payments are considered "gifts"). Starting a campaign is free of charge, but transaction fees apply to donations (€0.25 per donation + 2.9% of the total amount). Once the campaign has ended, gofundme will transfer the net donation amount to you.
Please then transfer the donation amount to ME/CFS Research Foundation gGmbH:
