Start your fundraising campaign!
Fundraising campaigns are at the heart of our work. They bring people together and make a decisive contribution to our efforts to advance research. Many affected individuals, relatives, friends, associations, companies, etc. launch impressive campaigns with creative ideas, e.g. on the occasion of:
- Birthday, anniversary, holidays
- Awareness Event ME/CFS oder Long COVID
- Charity run (schools, clubs, companies)
- other sporting events
- charity concert
- Just like that...
Here are tips, examples and suggestions on how you can plan and implement your own campaign. It's easy!
Start an online fundraising campaign
The largest online donation platform in Germany. In addition to direct donations , you can easily set up your own fundraising campaigns for ME/CFS research in just a few minutes:
- Select project (Link to ME/CFS Research Foundation)
- Create a campaign page with photo and text (download text template for ME/CFS research)
- Spread the word about the fundraising campaign (social media, WhatsApp, email, etc.)
Donors can donate to us via your campaign (all common payment methods). Betterplace displays the donations received for your campaign and also issues donation receipts (useful for large donations, as our projects are charitable). At the end of the campaign, you forward the funds to the ME/CFS Research Foundation with a single click. Everything is free of charge for you. Betterplace automatically retains the transaction costs (2.8% of the donation amount).
The crowdfunding platform gofundme works in a similar way: you can start your own campaigns in just a few steps. Please note: your donors will not receive any donation receipts (for tax purposes, the payments are considered "gifts") and the money will initially be transferred to your account after the campaign. Starting a campaign is free of charge, but fees apply to donations (transaction fee of 2.9% of the turnover + €0.25 per donation). Once the campaign has ended, gofundme will transfer the net donation amount to you.

Donations go directly to the ME/CFS Research Foundation. All donors receive a payment receipt, and for larger donations we automatically send donation receipts.
